Syncing client database tables with remote database.

  • Hi,

I am hoping someone can give me some direction quickly with a database question or maybe even link me to some documentation.

I need to sync locally created database records to a remote server so they can be sent down to other client workstations.
Of course the keys & relations need to be preserved.

What is the correct way to handle the ids so they don't overlap and the relationships don't conflict with other duplicates across the tables?

Should I use something like a GUID (from QUUid for example) for the primary keys?

This question isn't strictly Qt, but there are lots of really experience coders here. :)

    Thanks.

Edit: I am using SQLite for the local database and MySQL for the remote one.
