[Solved] Can´t add a compiler on Build&Run kit

  • Hi, I recently installed Qt creator on Windows 7 64 bits, and when I try to compile a project i have the next error message: "error: Qt Creator needs a compiler set up to build. Configure a compiler in the kit options."

    If I go to Build&Run->Compilers, I have these:

    • Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 (7.1.7600.0.30514) (x86) MSVC
    • Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 (7.1.7600.0.30514) (amd64) MSVC
    • Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 (7.1.7600.0.30514) (ja64) MSVC

    In Build&Run->Kits, I have:

    Desktop Qt 5.1.1 MSVC2012 64bit (default)

    If i click on it, I have nothing on "compiler" section, and the contextual menu from it is disabled. I just can click on Manage, which does nothing, only gives me to Build&Run->compilers.

    Any help?
    Thank you and sorry if my english is not properly.

    Hi and welcome to devnet,

    Since you have installed the MSVC2012 version, you need VisualStudio 2012 installed on your computer to use it.

  • Thank you it worked.
