QT 5.1: Necessitas still required for Android?
-
Hi,
With the Android/iOS support in 5.1 and upcoming 5.2 I am wondering if Necessitas will still be required to build native apps?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Necessitas was used with Qt4.
Since Qt 5.1 all the android support is actually a merged Necessitas codebase (not complete) -
Thank you raven-worx. One thing still confuses me: Is the 5.1 android/iOS support freely available or does it require a commercial license (see http://qt.digia.com/Product/Whats-New/Qt-Mobile/?utm_campaign=Qt+Mobile+Edition&utm_source=Homepage+Banner)
I intend to use the 5.1 libraries provided by openSUSE...

Qt is open source and free of charge. You can pay for support to various companies (Digia, KDAB, ICS, Milo, ...). If you need a commercial license, you need to buy one from Digia (and you get the support from them then, too).

you can use Qt with LGPL license agreement and free community support (e.g. via this forum) ;)
You are not forced to use a commercial license unless you need the benefits from it, like individual support from digia or source code manipulation, etc.
