QTConcurrent & QFuture in Qwidget

I have a Qwidget whit some slot and signal and function ...... I need to run one of these function (read data from modbus) during the operator work on the gui.

I tried to use qtconcurrent in some bad way :
qframe (parent),
ui(new Ui::mywiget)
{

QFuture<void> future = QtConcurrent::run(this, &myFunction);

}

..... but I have not quite figured out how to use qtconcurrent qfuture and in this case .... can I have some help (I read with difficulty English).
