Terrible flickering when resizing floating dock

I have a floating window (QDockWidget) over a QTableView set as a central widget (see the test below). If I resize this floating window from the right side (or bottom) there is no significant flickering. But if I resize it from the left side (or top) flickering becomes annoying (in fact, it's nearly unbearable)
Is it possible to make resizing work more smoothly? I'm under Linux/X11
