Switching between tabs in my application takes almost 15 seconds

Hello,
I have a Qt application which runs perfectly on desktop Windows. I have found that when I load my application to WEC7 the time to switch between tabs for my QTabWidget can take anywhere from 15 to 25 seconds. This is worrying me quite a bit. Every other widget works fairly quickly. There is some delay in pushing buttons, but not on the order of seconds. I remember reading that there may be a bug on Qt 4.6, but I couldnt find it again. I am running 4.8.4. Has anyone else experienced this problem with QTabWidget on an embedded platform? What is the fix?
FYI: I am running a 1GHz processor with 1Gb of memory
