When using QDateEdit the text background is being drawn to far to the left overwriting the parent box (which is also too small), this is only happening when I set the calendarPopup to be true.
OSX 10.8.4 Qt 5.1.0 QtCreator 2.7.2

Could you post a minimal example so that other users might try to replicate the problem ?
You can also have a look at "the bug report system":bugreports.qt-project.org/issues/ to see whether someone else already reported this.
