i agree with Gerolf's proposal, spam post should be completely removed, not only empty the content.

The content is gone and I left a comment on the postings. In one case someone commented on the posting so it would have been weird to simply delete the whole thing.

It's confusing as long as the postings are somewhere in active threads but as soon as the thread moves down in the stream I don't think it will be a big issue.
