Qt for Embedded Ubuntu

  • Hey all - I'm quite new to the embedded world and presently I would like to understand how to go about compiling my Qt applications so that I can use them on a SmartQ 5 device which is running Ubuntu 9.10 on an ARM environment.

I'm not looking someone to have all the answers - I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for getting going with this?

  • You can use cross-compiler for arm under your desktop linux for example.

  • Does the ARM device running Ubuntu need to have the Qt libraries installed on it tho?

  • If it is not installed by default, you will have to add the Qt libs (including the used plugins and any other necessary libs) to the device too.
