"ProductName" needed to be able to uninstall Qt 5.0.1 from Windows 8
-
Hello together,
I'm cleaning up my Windows 8 installation and found the Qt 5.0.1 framework on my laptop (probably installed a few months ago ^^).
When I try to uninstall this framework via system control -> programs and functions I run into an ugly bug: Qt 5.0.1 maintenance tool intends to delete my C:\Windows\System32 folder completely. :-D So I try to run the MaintenanceTool.exe from installation directory (C:\Qt\Qt5.0.1) ... it starts and shows me the correct path. The option "Remove all components" is already preselected, so that I can click on "Next" directly. But after that I receive a message box that says me "ProductName must be set" ... and then the uninstallation process abborts.
I'm obviously not able to remove Qt from my system, unless I start to delete file by file manually .... Does anybody know, how I can fix this problem or uninstall Qt on an alternative way?
Regards,
Chris -
Hello Chris,
I have a similar problem. Did you ever find a solution?
Best regards,

Hi and welcome to devnet,
This sounds like a bug... A check to the "bugreport":bugreports.qt-project.org/issues/ system might be a good idea.
If nothing's there try the mailing list, you'll find Qt's developers/maintainers there (this forum is more user oriented)

Hey,
sorry, haven't found any solution yet ... I'll have a closer look into the bugreport system. Thanks @ SGalst
