QT 5.1 Beta - Where to start with Android or IOS?
I have just installed the QT 5.1 Beta installer for Mac OSX. Now I want to create some Android and IOS sample applications but I can't manage to find sample projects or any tutorial on how to do it.
Could anyone tell me where to start with these platforms?
As you can see here "http://download.qt-project.org":http://download.qt-project.org/development_releases/qt/5.1/5.1.0-beta1/ binaries for android are avaliable only for a linux platform. Probably you will need build Qt on Mac yourself.
Thanks for the reply, qxoz!
What about IOS applications?
Unfortunately for IOS i didn't see any prebuild binaries yet. You should build it anyway.
You can try use "this instruction ":http://blog.qt.digia.com/blog/2013/03/05/qt-for-ios-preview/ to compile Qt for iOS.
Any updates to this, now that we have a binary?
Since Qt is crossplatform. Is it possible to develop for ios on linux? But most likely need a mac to use a device, and get the app to app-store?
You will need to build the app with Xcode (if you're wanting to get it into the Apple App Store). It's possible to set up a PC as a 'hackintosh', or set up OSX 'Snow Leopard' in a VM. Depending on how much your time is worth, it may be 'cheaper' to buy a 2nd hand Mac mini.
