Qt Creator 2.7.0 (OS X 10.8.2): qml2puppet crash (dyld: Library not loaded)
-
Dear members, I've just installed a fresh copy of Qt 5.0.2 from the download page. I successfully compiled and run a few examples, but whenever I try opening any qml file in Design mode, I get a crash report with this error:
Dyld Error Message: Library not loaded: /Users/*/QtQuick.framework/Versions/5/QtQuick
Referenced from: /Developer/Qt5.0.2/Qt Creator.app/Contents/MacOS/qml2puppet.app/Contents/MacOS/qml2puppet
Reason: image not found
This crash dialogue keeps popping up every 20–30 seconds and the only way to stop this is to force-quit Qt Creator.
Would anyone be able to help me with this? I’ve tried googling everywhere, but so far haven’t got any references to anything similar.Thank you in advance.

The qml2puppet for Qt Creator is not packaged correctly on Mac OS X.
(https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTCREATORBUG-9135)You can build qml2puppet yourself as described here:
http://blog.qt.digia.com/blog/2013/03/21/qt-creator-2-7-0-released/Sorry for the inconvenience.
Edit: Another option is using the just released 5.1 Beta.

Thank you for your reply, Thomas. From the bug description it was not at all obvious that it was related to the problem. I am now trying out Qt Creator 2.7.1 where this bug is corrected, and depending on my experience, I may or may not install the patch on 2.7.0. If I do, I will make a post about the results.
By the way, when running Qt Creator 2.7.1, qml2puppet pops up multiple generic app icons in the Dock, which was probably not intended. Whereas it may be a minor issue, it should be quite easy to make qml2puppet a background process if it does not interact with the user (this would mostly take a little fiddling with the application Info.plist).
Thank you again.
Edit: I only saw your suggestion about 2.7.1 after posting ;-)

I have the same problem but with Qt Creator 2.7.1

I haven't done extensive testing of qml forms with Qt Creator 2.7.1, but on my system it seems to be running fine. I can open qml examples and make simple edits in forms. I observe the nuisance of qml2puppet popping up multiple app icons in the Dock and being in quite slow to start, but otherwise no problem. I am using Qt Creator that came with Qt 5.1.0 beta for Mac.
