I was told by one of the colleague that Qt is not supported officially on windows 7. I googled it and see it says supported int Tier 2.
I am wondering what is this tier2.

bq. Tier 2 platforms are subjected to our unit test suite and other internal testing tools prior to release of new product versions. Qt users should note, however, that errors may be present in released product versions for Tier 2 platforms and, subject to resource availability, known errors in Tier 2 platforms may or may not be corrected prior to new version releases.

This seems to be clear, it is tested and generally supported, but not the first priority in terms of bug fixing.

It's explained in the link you gave. Do you have any further questions?

        BTW:
It the list has changed for "Qt 4.7":http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7/supported-platforms.html#tier-2-platforms

Volker is right. Win7 is in tier1 (for msvc2008 compiler)

When will Windows 7 with MSVC 2010 be tier 1? Only MSVC 2008 is tier 1 now.

"When it's ready" :) The win32-msvc2010 mkspec is already there, perhaps it needs a bit more testing.
