It's great that we have now groups. I'm not yet member of any but on the forum homepage I can see forums of 2 groups (Qt Russia & Qt India). I think that group forum should be only visible to it's member. Otherwise using forum homepage will be uncomfortable when Qt DevNet will have few hundred (or thousand) groups.

Seems group owners can set these settings as private or public.

          QtK,

bq. Forums connected to private groups are not private or hidden, only the Wiki is private.

we might end up with collapsible rows then, whenever we have too many groups

We have this ideal of not hiding parts of the devnet unless absolutely needed (for the greater good, sharing is caring etc.), we will keep that ideal for as long as we can. But if we end up with lots of group forums (they will only be granted to groups we think will have good traffic) we will have to look at an alternative solution.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have subscribe/unsubscribe to a forum on a per user base. If a user is not subscribed, he/she would not see the new posts in this forums in the respective search. In the general forums, the default should be "subscribed", in the groups forums "not subscribed". This way one could filter out a bunch of posts he/she's not interested in (e.g. a plain desktop developer might not want to see the Qt Quick posts...)

I know of the RSS feeds, but not everyone does use them...

Especially, the group forum changes are perhaps not relevant for all users. I, for example, can't read Russian. If the russian forum will discuss in their native language, ....
