for Qt creator 2.6.1 (windows) , i am facing following problem
":-1: error: Qt Creator needs a compiler set up to build. Configure a compiler in the kit options."

• compiler did not detected automatically
• Desktop Qt 5.0.0 MSVC2010 32bit kits not detected

Do you have a MSVC 2010 compiler installed on your machine? Qt project can not distribute the microsoft compilers, so you have to install those separately.
