Qt, Pyside, python 2.7
-
Hi all, first time poster.
I'm starting to expand my coding skills and stumbled upon pyQt. I use python scripts for Geographic Information Systems (that's my real job), but now I want to start developing "professional" apps as either an add-on to ARCVIEW (the software I use) or create a stand alone app that I can use to do some "heavy lifting" working with GIS files or Autocad files.
I'm a newbie, but I have python 2.7, Pyside 1.1, and I've downloaded the Qt Creator 2.6. I'm trying to do the basic "hello world" tutorial to get a message box, but when I import the PySide module "no module PySide.Qtgui found" error comes up. I am using python IDLE cuz when I started using QtCreator, it was a little bit of a learning curve.
Any tips/hints/tricks/wisdom is appreciated.

Have you looked at the "PySide Tutorials":http://qt-project.org/wiki/PySide_Tutorials page? I worked through some of the examples and got it working.
