Qt 5 including Qt creator are on the top of download page
-
The download page is a bit inconsistent at the moment. Where the download links for Qt SDK had been there is only the list of pre-compiled Qt 5 libs. At the bottom one can download Qt creator but a reference to Qt SDK is given.

Qt Creator IDE can also be downloaded as a standalone application, although we recommend to get it via the SDK above if you need a complete Qt development environment. The latest SDK has a self updater feature that will keep you up to date as new versions are made available.

Some users have been confused by this. Due to the holiday season at the moment nobody seems to be able to update the download page accordingly. There have been already a couple of posts searching for the Qt SDK. In the form as it was available for Qt 4, it is not present yet. However, the download installers for Qt libs at the top of the download pages include also Qt creator.
Note, that you require to install a compiler in addition. For windows it would be MSVC compiler, since the version compilable with MinGW is not officially released yet.

Some people have referred to this as an SDK - but since the toolchain is not complete I don't really think it qualifies. Fixing GCC on Windows should be a priority IMO, even if the freeware visual studio express can serve as a compiler for the time being.

You are right. The thread has been started based on "this discussion":http://qt-project.org/forums/viewthread/23001
You can find a couple of posts from people who want to install Qt5, but they could not find what they are used to. At least the links at top of the download page seem to provide a consolidated solution.
It looks like the time ran out to get Qt5 released before xmas. -
I just can't wait to get SDK so make my own SDK (including Creator+MinGW) and Runtime installer :P

Hi, I hope this isn't too much of a FAQ but I haven't been able to find info or get it yet.
On Windows 8 I downloaded the Qt5 bundle and the MS VS Express for Windows 8. Qt Creator sees it but says there is no suitable compiler for compiling this version of Qt.
It looks like the download is for MSVC 2010 and my kit is 2011. Are they supposed to be compatible? Is it necessary to compile Qt? (I tried that too and didn't get too far.)
I normally work in Linux but was trying to set it up in Windows also (I rarely use Microsoft ware and am not terribly familiar with its toolchain in general). Thanks!
Also I notice in the install file that openssl is an optional extra. I assume that is compiled into the version for download? My app will absolutely require SSL.

bq. MS VS Express for Windows 8
Sounds like you got the VS2012 based Express. You will either need to get 2010 Express or compile Qt on your own with the compiler you currently have.

If it's next week, it would be awesome.

I was one of those who made a post about the SDK. Good to see it officially addressed :)
