Make sure that your Nokia device is connected to your computer (via USB cable or WiFi). Launch Coda application on the Nokia device.
Btw antivirus software might block Qt Creator connection to CODA.

Are you sure? If you see status Connected on the CODA application as well as at Qt Creator you should be able to transfer your app, install and debug it.
Yes, it must be compatibility issue. Coda works fine on Nokia Belle but your devices are with with Symbian S60 3rd Edition which is much older. Try with CODA's ancestor called "AppTRK":http://tools.ext.nokia.com/trk/. Check "this article for details":http://www.developer.nokia.com/Community/Wiki/Archived:Qt_Creator_and_on_device_debugging_with_AppTRK.
Do you use any kind of antivirus or firewall on your computer? It might block the connection between the mobile device and the computer.

Check the Qt SDK directory for .sis files. It contains binaries for CODA that work with the version of Qt Creator that is part of that SDK. CODA versions are not compatible with each other (even going up one patchlevel release might cause breaks!), so always make sure to grab the one that came with the SDK.
IIRC the latest Nokia Qt SDK is no longer compatible with TRK at all, so you might need a copy of an older SDK for those pre-Anna/Belle phones.
