Transferring MySQL dll to another machine

Hi Folks,

Pretty new to Qt. Been using it for a few months though on a small project. I was wondering, is it possible to transfer the compiled MySQL plugin to another machine for development, or does it need to be recompiled for each system? If not, why exactly is this prohibited? It seems to me that as long as all other parts are equal, we should be able to copy from one to another.
