    Hi all,

    I'd like to make a desktop-based reminder program that opens a pop-up notification at a user-specified time.

The only approach I can think of is to use a single-shot timer, after calculating the number of milliseconds from the set-up time to the user-specified time.

The QtOrganizer module seems to have the features I'm after, but it's designed for mobile platforms.

Is there a nicer way to do this?

One way that will actually work even if the user changes the systemtime (think daylight saving time, etc.) is to wake up every minute and check whether you want to do something now.

Yes, that sounds robust. Thanks Tobias.
