Qt installation issue-./configure parameter
-
I downloaded qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.7.3.tar.gz and hope to configure it. I look up README but still do not know how to set platform and compiler parameter (./configure platform target) and what options the platform and compiler have. Or what is the default value?
who can clarify it for me? Thanks.

configure -platform <> (eg... configure -platform win32-g++)
-
If I am using Ubuntu Linux? If I should denote 32-bit or 64-bit? or If I denote nothing, just ./configure, what platform it means?
-
by default, it is supposed to detect the platform on its own... but usually, it has to be specified as auto-detect fails... for linux it would be something like linux<32/64/empty>-g++

Here is the "Doc":http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7-snapshot/configure-options.html . Might be helpful.
Just
@./configure
make
sudo make install @and lets see, if its failing.

Hi,
Do you mean if we use the command "configure -platform win-g++", it is also supposed to detect the 32-bit or 64-bit as linux-g++?
Thanks

no... that doesn't work on windows... as far as linux-g++(or linux32-g++) goes, i was just guessing the options that might be... i haven't used qt on linux... but win-g++ surely doesn't work... and either 'linux-g++' or 'linux32/64-g++' would work, not both...i think
