Get the child items of the qquckwaylanditem on the wayland server

I have a wayland server code. I have created the wayland surfaces, and created a waylanditem for each surface. Now trying to get the child elements of the wayland item surface that is viewable on the window. But not able to get the expected results.
I have used "children" function that is provided by the qquickitem, but not getting the children of the surface item.
Any suggestion for getting the child elements, so that I can get which element is having the current focus and its co-ordinates
