Somehow I managed to delete part of the file.
Since I keep copies, I recovered the missing piece, only to receive something to the effect
" file was changed ON DISK , but not saved "
" do you want to delete it ? "I read
the missing part was added on disk but not saved (?) , do you want to delete it ?so it is on disk (!) , I want it, and Qt is asking if I want to discard what I just recovered.
How about
"save ( latest version) "
too simple ? -

Can you please read and acknowledge what I wrote on this post?
Why do you not say, that it's about Qt Creator, when it is?
It's a requirement in this forum to mark posts with a meaningful headline. That requirement is valid for everybody, you included. You ignore it constantly.
How do the topic and the screen shot relate to the question you ask? When Qt Creator detects that an open file has been changed on disk by another program, it offers you the options to keep the version in Qt Creator, or to close it. "Do you want to delete it" wouldn't make any sense and Qt Creator doesn't offer that option.
Your proposal would discard one of the options currently offered.
In your case, it would have been better to keep the version in Qt Creator and save it at a later point. That's essentially what you are asking for, albeit in two steps. Makes sense, too. Keeping the outdated version in Qt Creator is one decision. Saving it (thereby overriding the one on disk) is another.
