I generally look at DevNet through the 'Posts since last visit' search, as I guess many frequent visitors do. I find it easier than going forum-by-forum. A big downside is, however, that you also get lots of topics that I can't read (a language I don't speak) or just have no interest in.

There is a "Mark all as read" button under the list, but I would really like it if there would be a small "mark as seen" link or button for each individual topic, without actually opening that topic. That way, it would be easier to prune my lists of to-reads. To take this a few steps further, it would be nice if you could also:

mark a topic as "this does not interest me, don't show again", so it would stay out of my Posts since last visit permanently, no matter how active it is.

mark a topic as 'to followup/interesting/favourite". At times, I come across topics that I would like to reply to, but can't right now because for example, it will take a bit of time to create a good answer. There is no good way to mark these topics to make them easy to find again. I know I have not replied to topics that I thought I should reply to, but I could not find back at the moment I was able to spend the time to write a reply.

      I would add something like:

Mark a forum as no interest, as e.g. I can't read chinese, so I would like to m ark such forums as not of interest for me.

Yeah, but I think we already have a request for that open :-)

          +1

I may add another one. I would acutally love to see some kind of indication that I have previously posted to this topic (like the checkmark for solved posts in the QnA, or the topic automatically beeing marked as 'to follow up'). This way one wouldn't have to check both, the new posts list and the written posts list, just to not miss any of "your" threads.

Also my support for this request.

Andre, you are right there are already requests concerning a distinction for different languages open. However, it seem to be good to bring it up again. Unfortunately we can vote only once for a request. Maybe after some time it would be good to be able to revote for rising a flag that this is still of importance.

In general it would be already of great help to have a button to mark a topic as read.

A button for marking as "not interested in this topic" would be really a significant improvement, when those topic would not show up again.

But for me, the second item is important too: be able to mark a topic as 'favorite/to followup/interesting'. That would increase my response-rate on the forum. We have something like that for the documentation: DocMarks. You can at least mark pages there, though I can't find how to retreive them again.

Yes, that would be certainly nice as well. This goes somehow along with this "old thread":https://qt-project.org/forums/viewthread/5684/

I believe we had also a thread on DocMarks for threads some time in the past.

Good catch, that's what I'm after, and it turns out Volker made a "request":https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTWEBSITE-126 for this in the bugtracker as well.

I created two separate feature requests:

                    • "Add ignore topic feature for forum":https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTWEBSITE-421
                    • "Mark individual topics as read without opening them":https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTWEBSITE-420

The bookmarking feature was already requested earlier.

Meanwhile, it turns out peppe "created":/forums/viewthread/12303/ a GreaseMonkey script that makes at least the per-thread mark as read possible. I guess that means that in principle, it would not be hard to integrate this into the normal website?

Just found this "updated thead by peppe":https://qt-project.org/forums/viewthread/12303/
The script does provide the "mark as read" button.
