Stand Alone Application Qt 4.8.0

It seems that the information given here and here is not up to date with Qt 4.8.0 so I am unable to build a Stand Alone Windows Application. Even if I try to copy all the dependencies in the same folder with my exe, it still gives some really strange errors for missing characters, so it's not working at all. I can run it only via Qt Creator. Can someone provide me some information about the procedures for building a stand alone exe under windows.
Thanks in advance!
P.S: Under Ubuntu I have no problems at all, everything is working just perfect.
P.P.S: Under Windows I don't use MS Visual Studio at all ...

Then what ARE you using? MinGW? Are you using any plugins (i.e. loading images, etc.)? Are you using any other than the standard Core and GUI modules (i.e. networking, Open GL, etc.)? Have you copied all required DLL's by those modules to your applications root directory?
Post some error messages you get.
