Cross building on MacOS for Linux device. How?

Got not standard question for me. There are need to build application for Linux. But working on MacOS. What is the perfect way to install Qt Creator and developer environment for comfort developing process in this case? Should it be use SSH remote connection? if yes how to build from Qt Creator on remote device?

One of the simplest solution is to use a virtual machine so you can develop directly on Linux and have all the tools required available.
