In the first screenshot you show ld complain it was not linked with xlnt library.

But in the second screenshot you show g++ link succeeding the linking without error.

I do not follow how you get both of these behaviours when compiling/linking the same code?

What exact error do you get ?
As @JonB wrote, on the second screen, the build has succeeded hence our question, describe your issue precisely.

I think what the OP means is: the second screen shows .pro and successful link. Then per the first screen they add an xlnt variable and then it no longer links per the "undefined references".

@JonB then it might be an issue of not linking all the required libraries or a MinGW vs Visual Studio build of the dependency.
