Downloading via online installer is extremely slow right
-
Hi and welcome to devnet,
There are already several threads on the forum related to speed issues. Some have switched mirrors and it improved stuff while others have tried to go through a VPN.

@Guapo said in Downloading via online installer is extremely slow right:
I´m from Brazil. Downloading opensource shows 4 day to complete install. I tried several mirrors and 7% is the maximum.
Does
--mirror https://master.qt.io
work better? -

@SGaist I've been wrestling with this problem for a few days now. I've tried different mirrors and the offline installer. I've read through the Qt forum and other sites as well for a solution. I've seen questions about this going back 8 years. At this point my biggest question by far is how can this be the state of things? I think it would really help if someone could address this question. Acting like it's a typical hiccup makes people a bit nuts.

@SierraMadre
Hi. I do not disagree with you. But in case you are not aware, this is a forum of Qt users, just like yourself. We have no control over what The Qt Company does/does not do, and it is they who provide the download/mirrors.... -
@JonB That's a good point and to be clear I'm not interested in blame and don't intend my question to cast any blame. Especially on people who take out their time to help out (like SGaist).
The question is just a pure question but's it's an important one because w/o understanding how things can be like this, one can never move forward with Qt without worrying what the next inexplicable showstopper will be. Learning Qt is not an insignificant time investment.

@SierraMadre and @SGaist I tried 4.6.0 and 4.5.2 with the same results.
Now It´s possible to install with normal speed ...aprox. 1..2 hours.
I didn´t do anything. Just tried today again.

For all, please check the banner link. This a now known situation that is being worked on.
One of the simplest solution is to use the 4.5.2 installer.

Thanks to Guapo for letting me know (to me he'll always be Muy Guapo). I just re-tried the install and it worked as expected.
And thanks to SGaist for the link to Qt's announcement about the problem. I feel a ton better seeing that. I almost bailed on Qt.
