<![CDATA[Visual Studio + QT 5.12.12 - Updating Translation]]>I've inherited a Qt 5.12.12 project which originally supported translations to a handful of other languages. I'm currently working in Visual studio with the Qt Vs Tools extension, however, I've had no luck being able to update any of the translation (.ts) files. I'm looking to generate the translations for some new elements which have been added to our UI.

As I understand it, I should be able to use lupdate to generate new translations, but after the popup that the file is generating, nothing new is generated despite having new tr() strings in my code. Additionally the create new translation file prompt in Project > Add new item > Qt > Qt Translation file also pops up a status window but never generates a file.

Does anyone know if this is an issue with the plugin or something wrong with the way I'm trying to generate the translations?
