I have decided to bite the bullet and start over.
I have imported 6.5.0 MDI example

I do not see .pro file and getting this
No rule to make target 'all.".

All new to me and I would appreciate some assistance to get going.

I guess from 6.0 Qt prefers cmake. You have cmake there. Do not be surprised that pro file is missing.

@JoeCFD So basically if I want to build the example as main project in subdirs I am out of luck or it is back to git. .

@AnneRanch ...and that is no good either . There is no "git": for 6.5.0." examples . I got git for "qbase" and it takes forever to install.. I "want" to build subdir main project and need to start with MDI example AND I need .pro file.

...and I forgot where to ask for "qmake" in configuration....
