Dangling circle in other languages fonts (especially in Devanagari)

When I use setHtml() function of QTextEdit, the font does not gets rendered properly and a dangling circle is being shown in a word
Also, for showing the Devanagri script fonts I need to change the encoding to UTF-8.

Instead of लेखक, it is showing a circle beneath that 'Mathra'.
Also, if I paste this text somewhere it is showing correctly and if I use setPlainText() instead of setHtml(), the text gets rendered properly and no circle is being shown.

Can anyone help me with that ?
