I am wanting to write my own simple version of a columnn view because QColumnView is just to narrow in scope for what I am after.
So I thought I'd use three list views instead, each one showing a certain level in my hierarchical data based on the selection in the previous list.
Now I am wondering how to make it all work like the column view.

I guess the lazy way would be to flatten my original model and use proxy models to filter the data for each view, but then I won't be able to switch to tree view easily if we ever want to do that in the future.

Feels like this is something others may have done before so I wanted to check here for advise.

Cheers,
frank
