    I just get stuck while trying to build Qt from sources on Ubuntu18.04. any solution? I checked their official doc , and I don't think I miss any step.

    ../configure -developer-build -opensource -nomake examples -nomake tests -prefix /home/mike/Qt/5.15.2/gcc_64/ -webengine-proprietary-codecs -platform linux-clang

    ninja: build stopped: subcommand failed.
    Makefile.gn_run:1331: recipe for target 'run_ninja' failed
    make[4]: *** [run_ninja] Error 1
    make[4]: Leaving directory '/home/mike/Qt/5.15.2/Src/build/qtwebengine/src/core'
    Makefile:82: recipe for target 'sub-gn_run-pro-make_first' failed
    make[3]: *** [sub-gn_run-pro-make_first] Error 2

      It turns out that16GB RAM is not enough for building QtWebEngine. I just enlarge RAM up to 32GB, and everything works fine . Thanks everybody.

            Can you show us the actual error? It must be output before the first line you showed ...

              @gaojinhsu You should post the actual error which is above what you posted from the build log.

                @jsulm @kkoehne

                clang++: error: unable to execute command: Killed
                clang++: error: clang frontend command failed due to signal (use -v to see invocation)

                Above what I post I can only find these by searching "error".

                  @gaojinhsu
                  Well it would be nice to be able to see what caused unable to execute command: Killed, can you really not discover that?

                      @JonB I googled for a while ,they say That's usually an indication that your virtual machine has run out of RAM. but there is a bug in Parallel, which is resizing disk space and ram doesn't work properly for ubuntu18.04. I'll try it on a real PC later and let you know the result.
