Creating core dumps from release builds
-
Hi!
Say that I have developed an application that is used by several hundred people. Naturally, issues and bugs will arise. Most of these issues can be easily solved if I am able to reproduce them with my current setup.
However, there are cases in which I am not able to reproduce these issues (e.g. different hardware, operating systems, etc). I would like to be able to see where (and why) the application crashed in these cases, but I haven't found a reliable way to do that (e.g. logging will not always work for these cases).
Is it possible to have a cross-platform way to generate a "core dump" from a release build? With the core dump, I could be able to see exactly why the application crashed, and what steps should I take to fix that issue.
Thanks,

No, that is a per-platform thing.
