Unsolved How to set a different font size globally for all Qt tools?
-
Previously I had been using the Qt Creator and other tools which came with Qt 5.12.9 through the binary installer. Now I have upgraded to 5.15.5 (compiled myself) and Qt Creator 5.0.3 which is based on 5.15.2. The operating system is Ubuntu 18.04.
In the old environment, all of the text in Linguist and Assistant was easy to read. Now it seems that the font size is much smaller. I know about the "Zoom" feature in Linguist, but this only affects the fields where the original text and translation is displayed. All of the other text in the menus and labels is much too small on my 1920x1080 laptop display.
Qt Creator is OK because I can set the editor font to whatever I need. The fonts displayed in the "Projects" and "Open Documents" panes is apparently unchanged from previous versions. However, the help topics are also too small.
Is there some global setting for all of these apps, or do I have to resort to using
gnome-tweaks
or something similar?(EDIT: I have noticed this problem in some KDE applications, too -- but I don't know if there is a correlation to this problem).

Now I see that Assistant allows different font sizes, but the help item page is not affected by the font size and remains extremely small. Linguist, which I use a lot, has no such setting, though.

It seems that
gnome-tweaks
does not help in Linguist at all. The font size appears to be hard-coded into the app.
