    Allo,
    Normally, I develop on Linux.
    I installed Qt Creator, with the online installer, on Win 7 64 bit. I want to compile the same project for Windows.
    I opened the same project.
    When I open a .cpp or .h file, by the usual method (The project is open. On the left side, I have the tree view that shows my .h and .cpp files.
    As soon as I open one, I get the standard message from Windows:
    clangbackend.exe has stopped working
    Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.
    -Check online for a solution and close the program
    -Close the program
    -Debug the program

    I looked at
    https://www.qt.io/product/supported-platforms-languages
    OK, so I see the Win 10 (or is it Win 8?) logo there.

    I looked at
    https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/supported-platforms.html

    Win 7 is in the list.

    Is there something wrong with my Win 7?

      Hello
      @stretchthebits

      OK, so I see the Win 10 (or is it Win 8?) logo there.

      I have used Qt on both Windows 10 and Windows 7 , So I am sure that win 7 can run QT.
      I haven't tried on Win 8 , so not sure about it. And you are talking about win 7 So it should run.

      Maybe this one could help you

      https://forum.qt.io/topic/108434/qt-5-13-gives-clangbackend-error-when-statup/10

      As soon as I open one, I get the standard message from Windows:
      If that didn't work please provide screen shot / screen clip of that screen

      THANK YOU

      Let's make QT free or It will go forever

        @Thank-You
        That website seems to be suggesting to disable the clang plugin. Ok, I did it and the crashes go away but is that good?
        That doesn’t fix the problem, it just sweeps it under the carpet.

          @stretchthebits

          clangbackend.exe is responsible for intellisense and understanding your code and provide inspection and completion features.
          Like when you hover over integer it shows int
          Something like that.

          but is that good?

          If above mentioned features doesn't impact then there is no problem with it

          Can you mention what specs do you use?
          If that is less then this can happen due to running out of memory

          You can read more about clangbackend here
          https://doc.qt.io/qtcreator/creator-clang-codemodel.html

          Hope it helps

            I'm not entirely sure, but I think thats a bug, Win7 support was dropped by the QtCompany the same time Microsoft dropped the support for it.

            You can technically still compile for it, but there won't be any patches and bug fixes for it.

            That was my last stand.

            Be aware of the Qt Code of Conduct, when posting : https://forum.qt.io/topic/113070/qt-code-of-conduct

            Q: What does it do?
            A: It turns blue.

              @stretchthebits
              Which version of QT are you using ?
              Did you update or install the offline version of QT?
