Ubuntu 20.04.02 LTS: QtCreator won't run - load xcb plugin error
-
Ubuntu 20.04.02 LTS installation Qt6
I followed the instructions on: https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/linux.html
Ran the online-installer for Qt.
Clicking Finish to run QtCreator, I get the error:qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found.
What should I do?

Hi,
As all the other threads mentioned, did you start Qt Creator on the command line with the QT_DEBUG_PLUGINS environment variable set to 1 ?

old story. It is likely the libxcb-xinerama is not installed. -
@SGaist @JoeCFD Thanks guys... the QT_DEBUG_PLUGINS was the nudge I needed.
Here's what I had to install to get QtCreator to run on Ubuntu LTS 20.04sudo apt update -q sudo apt install -y -q build-essential libgl1-mesa-dev sudo apt install -y -q libxkbcommon-x11-0 sudo apt install -y -q libxcb-image0 sudo apt install -y -q libxcb-keysyms1 sudo apt install -y -q libxcb-render-util0 sudo apt install -y -q libxcb-xinerama0 sudo apt install -y -q libxcb-icccm4
Now I can relax again!
