After setting QMAKE_CXXFLAGS_WARN_OFF still getting "unused variables"

What does [-Wunused-variable] telling me ?
Is there another option to disable the specific message or is the message NOT a warning type?

Hi,
Exactly what the warning name suggests: you have variables declared but never used.
This usually mean that you should remove them from your code which is a better idea than disabling the warning.
