Tiles randomly disappearing in Map

I am seeing this problem also, with Qt 5.15.1. The map tiles will disappear when navigating a menu or using other controls, even if they are not overlapping with the map. The behavior is very consistent, but I can't figure out the root cause.

It looks like this topic has not been getting any attention. Does anyone have any ideas? This is very frustrating!

EDIT:
Okay, I've got a little more information. It seems like the problem occurs if the menus are z-ordered on top of the map, even if they don't overlap with the map.

Did you find a solution for the problem? I am facing the same problem - interestingly it works when using widgets but in Qml I see the exact same problem.
