Whoops - lost "project" access...

I do not know what I did, but I cannot reopen "documents" / project because it is already open. But nothing shows in "project" pane.
Closing QtCreator and reopening it does not help.
Any instructions how to recover would be appreciated.

Ok. very odd.
And it says this FIRST time you click on the pro file ?
So it really cant be loaded.Try move the .pro.user away from project folder so it should ask about the
compiler again.Also, just so we are 100% clear.
It does say Projects on top of the white area where the project is normally shown ?

After I do Ctrl->. O and select .pro file this is what I get

Alt 0 - alternate zero reopens the (empty) pane
then up / down arrow in view/pane bar activates desired view- in my case "Projects"
