Unsolved Is QtCreator for free?
-
Hello
I would like to ask - can I use QtCreator for free at work if I use it with pure C++ and cmake? Is it GPL?
I do not use Qt framework at all.BR

https://www.qt.io/faq/what-are-the-licensing-options-for-qtThe general Qt toolkit, consisting of Qt Essential code libraries, the Qt add-on APIs, and the Qt Creator IDE are available dual-licensed for commercial and GPL licenses
Though quite why you're honouring your choice of IDE as Creator when you don't use Qt framework at all I am not sure :)

Probably because it's the best C++ IDE available ;)

Umm, I'm not singing the praises of MS, but I stuck at Visual Studio 2010 and I thought it was pretty darn good.... -

Yes you can. GPL does not matter for tools (GCC for example is also GPL). Only if you change QtCreator and distribute that changed version you have to release your changes also as GPL.

Good to know!
I need some fast IDE over X11 ssh forwarding over VPN. QtCreator is very fast here.
Most of the other IDEs are bad in this matterBR
