The "Qt Creator manual ":http://doc.qt.nokia.com/qtcreator-2.3/creator-writing-program.htmlhas some nice tutorials on this.
It will give you a very good starting point where an ui file will be generated which you can alter afterwards.
The Qt Designer is an essential part of Qt Creator. More information about ui design is in the "manual":http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.8-snapshot/designer-manual.html.
