How to register Qt app with MeeGo(N950) to open certain file extension

Hi,
For my app I have a menu btn that allows the user to select a file on the phone and the app will open that file. However I also want the user to go into a file explorer app and when clicking files with a certain extension (e.g. file "foo.bar" - extension ".bar") my app will open with that file. Can this be done using Qt APIs or from the installer?
Can anyone provide an example?
