LGPL v3 and Google Play & Apple Store
-
Hello,
I'm having a little trouble understanding the meaning of the Qt user licenses...
Does the LGPL v3 license allow the use of Qt Charts and Qt Data Visualization in commercial software proposed in Google Play or Apple Store )(with a dynamic linking)?Thank you!

Qt Charts and Qt Data Visualization are not available under LGPLv3.
They are only available under GPLv3 or a commercial license.

And the GPL v3 license allows to use of Qt Charts and Qt Data Visualization in commercial software proposed in Google Play or Apple Store )(with a dynamic linking)?

If you use GPL libraries in your software, then your software must also be released under the GPL license.
I am not a lawyer, but as far as I understand:
- You can publish GPL software in the Google Play Store.
- You cannot publish GPL software on the Apple App Store because their Terms of Service conflicts with the GPL license (https://www.fsf.org/blogs/licensing/more-about-the-app-store-gpl-enforcement )

@Francky033 BTW, GPL instead of LGPL means that you need to make your own source code available to anybody who asks for it. This is probably not what you want for your commercial software.
