How do you create a tooltip for a bar chart?

The Callout example shows how to create a custom tooltip when the mouse hovers over a line or spline chart. However, it is unclear how to translate this for bar charts. In the case of the line series, the hovered and clicked signals include the location of the mouse - this is not true for the bar series.

Any suggestions?
