QT Desinger doens't show GUI

I am working on a fresh install from source (5.12) and went to go run the designer and when it loads up I am not able to see alot of the GUI components, but the GUI is still reponsive. I am running Centos 7 on a VM using VMWare Player if that helps.

Has anyone ran into this before? Here is a screen grab from my VM:

I think its a font issue. like its not finding the fonts.
