Qt for off-line map application. How?

You can use Qt and OpenStreetMap plugin. Adding offline access is sure going to be a challenge, but it should be doable. I think OSM even has some tutorials how to cache and use their map data.

Trying to get any info about ability to develop on Qt offline map application. Mean something like Google Map but without any network access. Is it possible on Qt? Is there any Qt component that allow me to do it?
