There is some demand for using a networked DB.

We can use PostgreSQL with the associated pain of changing a bunch of SQL due to the differences. It also implies quite a bit of conditional code throughout our app.

The other option would be to use cubeSQL, which does not require SQL code change and has the added advantage of easy installation and admin by non-technical customers.

Has anybody created a plugin for cubeSQL? They do have an SDK on github.

Does anybody for hire have experience in creating these kinds of DB plugins for Qt? I looked at the sources and it is not intuitively obvious to create those without a bit of time spent to come up the curve.

CubeSQL looks nice and judging from the SDK still follows the SQLite api
to some degree so reusing much of the plugin code for SQLite should be possible.

The interface is not that involving.
https://doc.qt.io/qt-5.12/sql-driver.html#development

However, to ensure it actually maps correctly API to API, the developer should have extensive experience with both cubeSQL and SQLite.

I would approach Marco Bambini from sqlabs and hear if an arrangement could be found.
