you don't seem to have 'make' or 'qmake' in your PATH
Now I am able to configure, but gettting one warning...please go throught the attachement..
can I proceed next...
can I proceed next
If you don't need QDoc then yes you can...
Actually,I am cross compiling for embedded beagleboneboard
where I want to execute c,c++ files...for that QDoc is required?
If I want QDoc means, what I do for this?
for that QDoc is required?
No, it is only required to build Qt documentation which you do not need to run Qt applications.
"If I want QDoc means, what I do for this?" - read the warning - it already suggests what to do...
after configuring..I build the qt ..
while giving make -j4..
The result is
Is there any issues..or its correct..can I install it..
Is there any issues
Do you see any? I don't.
So just do:
I installed, the result is
Is it correct, can I proceed next..
I cross compiled qt..
After this i installed qt 5.13.1..
here is the kit configuration
Here is the qtversion selection
Here is the compiler selection
here is the gdb selection
After setting this all, running a simple application..
where I am getting the error like this
I am not getting ,what is the mistake please suggest me how to solve this...
Any suggestions please...
@Asha You can't execute your cross compiled app on your host, run it on your device.
@jsulm sorry I am not understood...I am connecting my device on devices option...running a application on qt..
run it on device means,where?
@jsulm can you elaborate it please...
for that error..
I am not enabled the eglfs while configuring qt5..
while configuring I mentioned -no-egl and -no-eglfs is that any issues?...(I thought this is is issue ,while configuring i have to give -qt-egl ang -qt-eglfs)
If this might be the issue ,then how to overcome with this...
when I tried configuring with -qt-egl and -qt-eglfs ,getting the error
ERROR: Invalid value given for boolean command line option egl
ERROR: Invalid value given for boolean command line option eglfs
I want to know how to run it on my device..
I want to know how to run it on my device
You can manually copy it to your device and start there.
Back to QtCreator: does it deploy your app to your device and start it there?
Did you copy your cross compile Qt to the device or do you deploy your app to the device with all needed Qt libraries?
The error message in QtCreator means that you're trying to start your app using eglfs as backend but the eglfs plugin was not found. Did you build it?
"while configuring I mentioned -no-egl and -no-eglfs is that any issues?" - which backend do you want to use? Do you use X11 on your device or something else?
And please be more patient: people here are volinteers helping in their own time and they do not live all in the same time-zone as you.
Yes I copied,using this command
scp -r Qt5ForBBB1 firstname.lastname@example.org:Qt5ForBBB1...
After this I followed,this steps(Qt5ForBBB, replaced with Qt5ForBBB1)
here is the platforms
here is the compiled qt selection
"The error message in QtCreator means that you're trying to start your app using eglfs as backend but the eglfs plugin was not found. Did you build it?"
while building I am not mentioned...
@Asha Which backend do you want to use? Do you have X11 on your device?
@jsulm yes,I have X11 on my device(/etc/X11).
Which backend do you want to use?(sorry I am new to this,I am not getting this one..)..
@Asha OK, in that case you need to build Qt with X11 support (add -xcb to configure). You probably will have to add some stuff to your sysroot, but run configure with -xcb first and check its output.
@jsulm so know can I give like this
./configure -platform linux-g++ -release -device linux-beagleboard-g++ -sysroot /home/beagle/BBB/sysroot -prefix /home/debian/Qt5ForBBB1 -hostprefix ~/Qt5ForBBB1 -device-option CROSS_COMPILE=/home/beagle/BBB/gcc-linaro-6.3.1/bin/arm-linux-gnueabihf- -qtxcb -recheck-all -v
You probably will have to add some stuff to your sysroot, (which stuff I need to add?)..
@Asha I think it should be -xcb not -qtxcb. You can check the available parameters calling "./configure -h".
@jsulm yes I tried with this -xcb,the result is
I am getting like above screenshots,
xcb is enabled, but xkbcommon and libs.xcb is failed....and EGL on X11 .....no
how to proceed next...
@Asha Please check the configure log or add -v parameter to your configure call and see what exactly happens when configures checks for xcb. You probably do not have needed header files and libs in your sysroot.
please go through the config.log
If I want to use Linuxfb backend, than how to use it because this is enabled..
If I want to use Linuxfb backend
I don't think you can use it as long as X11 is running, so first you need to stop it.
Then start your executable with "-platform linuxfb" parameter.
Any idea about config.log file...
Any idea about config.log file...
Well, it just tells you that some things will not be built, but as long as you don't need them you can ignore that.
@jsulm If i ignore this things, then what is the problem, why I am getting could not find the qt platform plugin "eglfs" in "".....
How to see which backend is running on my device?...
The error is:
qt.qpa.plugin: could not find the Qt platform plugin "eglfs" in ""
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized.Reinstalling the application may fix this problem..
Available platform plugins are: linuxfb,minimal,offscreen,vnc.
Remote process crashed..
"no Qt platform plugin could be initialized"
how to initialize Qt platform plugin
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem..
not getting what to reinstall, and how?
How to see which backend is running on my device?
You should know what device you have and what is running on it. You can ask the vendor.
"If i ignore this things, then what is the problem, why I am getting could not find the qt platform plugin "eglfs" in ""....." - these errors are NOT related to eglfs.
If eglfs is disabled by configure then enable eglfs when calling configure and check the configure log and see what errors are there related to eglfs. You're probably missing header files and/or libraries in your sysroot.
You're probably missing header files and/or libraries in your sysroot(which headers and libraries are required please let me know)
while deploying the kit,for sysroot
I am specifing the path:
in this sysroot i have again four directories
home lib usr sbin
which one i need to select for sysroot.
or I need to give the path below
which one i need to select for sysroot.
It is not about specifying the sysroot, you're already doing this.
The actual question is: does your sysroot contain everything needed?
I already suggested to check the configure log file to see whether there are any errors when configure tests for eglfs functionality...
I checked configure log file, the issues with eglfs shown below attachement, please go through this
please let me know ,if any error is there..
@Asha As you can see EGL libraries were not found. I guess you're missing them in your sysroot.

@jsulm Good Morning
