Older forum topics say an existing offline installation cannot be updated. Running the installer again results in "already installed" error.
Our customer PCs do not have online access, so an offline installer has to be used.
Has the Qt installer framework been updated so this works? If not, will it be in the future?

      Hi and welcome to devnet,

The idea behind the offline installer is that you install only one Qt version. If you want a newer version, just remove the old one and use the offline installer of the version you want now.

To my knowledge, the answers are no and no.

Yes, the Qt offline installers are one-shot, you can't update the installation. There exists a ticket for this kind of feature but currently there are no plans to implement it. https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTIFW-1281
